Our Vision:
To educate the child in his or her totality: to prepare the child to make the right choices in life; and to encourage the child to strive for excellence.

Our Mission:
  • To instill religious norms and values
  • To appreciate and to develop each learner as a unique being, so that the child is prepared to play a role in society
  • To strengthen the educational partnership between home and school
  • To provide a safe, disciplined learning environment in which a variety of learning activities can take place
  • To make learners aware of conserving our natural environment
  • To expose learners to high quality teaching and a well-qualified staff
Our "Van Reede":
Oudtshoorn Primary School was founded in 1959 with 450 learners from Grade 4 to Grade 7, and 24 teachers.

In March 1959 the name was changed to Van Reede Primary School. Our school is named after Baron van Reede van Oudtshoorn.
